In conjunction with Free College Application Week, students had a chance to meet with Ms. Whitney Higgins from True Homes’ Builders Bridge program.

The Builders Bridge program’s mission is to “create a synergistic and sustainable network through the local homebuilding community that collaborates with schools, churches, community organizations, non-profits, municipalities, and community leaders to ‘create a bridge’ between the opportunities of the network and the needs of the community.”

The program offers an 8-week summer internship for students to learn about the home building industry by meeting with industry professionals, exploring the different opportunities available and their potential for growth, and participating in on-site tours.

The home building industry offers students who are interested in a career in a trade to have paid training, a competitive salary, benefits, paid time off, and year-round stability, to name a few.
