In the Food and Nutrition Pathway, students will formulate an understanding of nutrition for a healthy lifestyle by preparing foods in each food group. They will also develop kitchen skills that promote proper food handling practice, plan and execute meal management, and gain the knowledge, skills, and industry credential for careers in food and nutrition, all in the first course. In the second course of the pathway, students will expand their knowledge of nutrient needs for a healthy lifestyle through the lifespan. They will discover the impact of food systems on the environment, economy, society, and the individual as well as develop an entrepreneurial venture idea using the Lean Canvas Business Model.
