Course Overview

Students at all middle schools across Union County Public Schools, except the Health Sciences Academy at Monroe Middle School and East Union Middle School, have Computer Science/Coding Courses that they can take in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. In the 6th grade, teachers have the option to teach basic Keyboarding, Introductory Coding using Tynker, or other coding concepts. In the 7th and 8th grade, students learn more in depth concepts about coding using a variety of tools. Course names may vary and are listed below:

  • Exploring Computer Science
  • CS Discoveries using Code.org
