MRHS Celebration Induction into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS)

On November 16th, Marvin Ridge High School celebrated the induction of students into the National
Technical Honor Society (NTHS).  The NTHS recognizes students who excel in one of the many Career and Technical Educational (CTE) fields as their profession. To be nominated for membership, students must complete three or more CTE courses by the end of their junior year, earn a minimum grade point average, and demonstrate significant involvement in CTE Organizations.

When asked to reflect
on their involvement in Career & Technical Education (CTE) courses and CTE
organizations, our members had the following comments:

“The clubs and courses in the
marketing pathway prepared me for real-world workplace situations such as job interviews
and interacting with people in the workplace. I know have a clear idea of the
field I want to be in after graduating college because of these CTE courses.”  ~Shivani

“As a graduating senior I can confidently say I would not have
found what I’m passionate about if it hadn’t been for CTE courses. It not only
prepared for what different types of careers would be like but also equipped me
with resources and skills I can bring into the workforce.” ~Sydney

“HOSA,
has also helped me further develop my skills and drastically expand my love for
medicine. By competing and becoming an officer, I was able to strengthen my
leadership skills to help the club members while continuing to explore the
different topics I could potentially study in medicine.” ~Rashmika

“As
someone that is interested in a variety of fields later on in life,
participating in CTE courses has really helped me to narrow down what I want to
do career wise. Completing CTE courses has also allowed me to understand the
real world applications of particular courses.” ~Aryan

“Being involved in FCCLA has given me the opportunity to build and use my leadership skills in a way that benefits my community. The support and feedback I get from being involved in this organization has built my collaboration and communication skills, which I can carry into whatever career setting I find myself in in the future.” ~Molly

NTHS understands changes in industry within local communities
and on a global scale. Not only do NTHS members embody all the attributes and
talent which is in demand today, these students also embrace a clear vision for
tomorrow’s workforce and their role in it.
