Mr. Vivian, CTE Teacher at Sun Valley High School Leads National Advanced Career Teacher Trainings
This summer, Bill Vivian taught teachers from across the nation at University of South Carolina (USC) and Auburn University this summer to prepare others for facilitating Advanced Career Aerospace Engineering courses. Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) co-hosted the trainings with major universities including UofSC and Auburn University. SREB’s Advanced Career Aerospace Engineering curriculum consists of four courses that prepares students for college and careers in the Aerospace Engineering field by emphasizing technical concepts and utilizing industry-standard technology. The projects in each course allow students to work in teams to solve problems developed with the advice of industry partners. Students must use mathematics and science skills as well as read, research, write and present their projects to industry professionals. SREB selected Bill Vivian based on prior summer training experiences, student performance, ability to collaborate with other teachers to support student success, and collaboration with subject matter experts from business, industry, and postsecondary institutions.
