Marvin Ridge FBLA Students Earn Highest Honors at the FBLA National Leadership Conference
Students from Marvin Ridge High School won top prizes at Future Business Leaders of America, Inc.’s (FBLA) National Leadership Conference (NLC). The event, held in Orlando, Florida, from June 24 to July 2, attracted more than 18,000 middle school, high school, and college students, educators, and volunteers from across the country. The NLC provides education, competition, and networking opportunities centered on business.
Students also had the opportunity to engage in over 200 learning workshops and meet with representatives from more than 100 colleges, universities, and employers.
Additionally, Middle School and High School members heard from Shawn D. Nelson, the Founder & CEO of Lovesac, who shared advice from his experience as an entrepreneur. Gorick Ng, a Wall Street Journal bestselling author and career adviser at Harvard University, offered tips to Collegiate members about how to start their careers successfully.
Marvin Ridge High School brought 86 competitors to this year’s National Leadership Conference, where their preparation and dedication paid off greatly. 25 students distinguished themselves as National Finalists. These accomplishments show the outstanding efforts and commitment of Marvin Ridge High School’s students and their dedication to the club.

Chapter Adviser Troy Burns expressed his support for the students who competed at the National Conference. He also showed gratitude for their collective effort and character, which has transformed the chapter into a close-knit community. “One of my favorite parts of trips like these is not just working to develop your skills, but also getting to know you as people,” he remarked. Ultimately, Marvin Ridge High School takes immense pride in all our competitors who represented MRHS in a very positive and professional manner.
