@WeddingtonHSNC DECA Students Shine at State Competition
Weddington High School DECA traveled to Greensboro, NC on Thursday, February 28 for a three-day business and marketing competition. Over 5,000 students from schools throughout the State of North Carolina were in attendance, marking it the largest Career Development Conference (CDC) to date.
All 80 Weddington students were proficient in testing and competition, 31 student received Top Awards for testing, role play, or overall performance. 19 students were awarded Top 10 honors, with nine of those students advancing to International competition with their Top 6 ranking. Sophomore Sriya Vangala (Human Resources Management) and Nan Jiang (Quick Serve Restaurant Management) took home first place in their respective events.
Sophomore Adele Petrikis ran for State office and will now serve as Vice President of the Dixie Pines Region for the 2024-2025 school year.
