Sun Valley High students visit Collins Aerospace. Thank you @CollinsAero!
Students in Dr. Vivian’s Aerospace academy was offered an exclusive opportunity to visit Collins Aerospace Engineering Facility. Students were given a 30–40-minute tour of the entire facility with an overview of logistics for each department. Employees linked instructional content to industry-based expectations that capitalized on the significance of each building block of equipment production and proper functioning. The paper airplane contest allowed students to work with employees to help build a model aircraft that could fly while considering factors of weight distribution, design and attention to detail. A super cool swag bag was awarded to a CATA student who mastered all of the concepts for their paper airplane flying the furthest in the group! Another CATA student was recognized for the super cool design created as well! While enjoying a Chick fil A lunch, engineering leaders shared a presentation to capitalize on everything Collins Engineering has to offer! Overall, it was a GREAT learning experience that allowed students see how they can “soar” in Aerospace and Avionics!
